Eleanor "jane" Jones

Manchester-Eleanor "Jane" Jones, 88 formerly oF Beacon St. died May 13, 2014 at Mountain View Community Home in Ossipee. Born August 14, 1925 in Johnstown, PA, daughter and only child to Clifford P. and Eleanor (Evans) Jackson she had lived in Manchester since 1978 previously living in Mirror Lake from 1965-78. She was educated in Hillsboro and graduated from Chamberlain School class of '46, Boston, MA. She was employed at Elliiot Hospital in Admissions for a time when she moved to Manchester, and later at Grace Episcopal Church. Church attendance was part of life for Jane, but involvement in the church life was of greater significance. Jane taught Sunday School, belonged to the Altar Guild, Episcopal Church Women, was married to a deacon and served as parish secretary for the Grace Episcopal Church in Manchester for 16 years. Jane was a caring and empathetic listener throughout her life. Generations of family grew up telling her their successes, mishaps, hopes or disappointments, and they always ended their visits knowing she cared. An unwritten rule in her home was "There is always room for one more," If a family member arrive unexpectedly with friends in tow, additional place settings would appear at the table and enough food would always be served. Jane set an example of hospitality, generosity, and kindness that extended to family, friends, acquaintances and pets. The word stranger was not part of her vocabulary. Anyone who knew Jane would find it hard to remember angry or hurtful words crossing her lips. Jane was a quiet woman who found contentment and enjoyment in whatever life presented to her, and she always found time for what was important, church, friends and family. Pre-deceased by her husband, Alan B. Jones, Sr. in 1999, she is survived by her son Alan B. Jones, Jr. and his wife Joy of Mirror Lake, 4 daughters Kristin Ryan of the Woodlands TX, Sally Zink and her husband of Chicago, IL, Nancy and Darcy Jones both of Manchester, NH, 8 grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Ryan Jones, Brook Woodward, Evan Jones, Brendan Ryan, Paige Ryan, Patrick Ryan, John Zink and 7 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be @11 a.m. June 7, 2014 at All Saints Episcopal Church, South Main St, Wolfeboro N.H. Her ashes will be interred in the Memorial Garden at All Saints.
