Marion Wells

MARION F. WELLS Marion F. Wells, 91, formerly of Concord, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on April 25, 2011 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home. Born in Russell, NY, July 5, 1919, she was a daughter of Frank and Bernice (Towne) Fellows. She lived most of her live in the South End of Concord and was a 1936 graduate of Concord High School. Marion was very active in church activities. As a teenager, she was president of the Older Girls' Conference and later became Sunday School Superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene, serving in many other capacities: (NYPS) young peoples' group, Sunday School teacher, Women's Foreign Missions Society, as well as helping with serving and cooking projects, plus singing in the church choir and in duets and trios. She especially loved music and taught herself to play several instruments: piano, accordion, ocarina, recorder, bells, and yes, even "water glasses!" She got an award for her organ lessons she took as an adult in Florida. Another activity she enjoyed was cooking. Employed as a Pastry and Dessert cook at the Rumford Elementary School for a year, she transferred to the "new" Rundlett Junior High School when it opened and was there for ten years. Later she worked at the Christian Mutual Life Insurance Company for eleven years as a file clerk. During those years, she and her husband were privileged to travel to Bermuda, Hawaii, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Luxemburg. From 1982 until 2000, Marion and Malcolm divided their time between their cottage in Moultonboro and their winter home in Naples, Florida, but she was always happy to get back to New Hampshire. In her later years, she joined the First Congregational Church Center Ossipee and enjoyed singing in the church choir there with her husband and son. Married for sixty-one years, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm R. Wells; a sister, Mildred Trombley and three brothers, Harry, Russell, and Frank Fellows. Survivors include: daughter, Nancee A. Donovan; son, Herbert D. Wells; three sisters, Hazel Tucker, Persis Homestead and Bernice "Bunny" Noyes; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Merrimack County Nursing Home, 325 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH 03303 or the CRVNA Hospice program.
