Sally Bickel Wickers

Sally Bickel Wickers, 72, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2019, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Born on July 9, 1947 in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Walker and Elizabeth (Leslie) Bickel. She was pre-deceased in July 2015 by her loving husband of 28 years, Roger Trueman Wickers. She is survived by Roger's three children, Mark Trueman Wickers and wife Michelle of Erie CO, Lindy Wickers Williamson and husband John of Charlestown, MA, and Steven Peirce Wickers of Jacksonville, FL; her brother F. Gordon Bickel and wife Judith of Langley, WA, Cousin Marcia Coleman, Nephew Charles Walker Bickel, Niece Alison MacGregor, and five grandchildren, Sean Trueman Wickers, Kyle Buchanan Wickers, Mark Richard Williamson, Jennifer Martha Williamson, and Thomas Roger Williamson. Sally spent her younger years in in Westfield NJ until moving to Bernardsville NJ when she was 13. After graduating from Bernardsville High School, Sally attended Colby Sawyer College (NH) and University of Miami (FL). After graduation, Sally spent some time in San Diego, CA before relocating to Boston, MA where she worked for 20 years at Fidelity Investments. Sally had fond memories of growing up with her family spending summers on Great East Lake in Wakefield, NH. Later, she reconnected to the area as she and Roger spent many years enjoying their lakefront home on neighboring Horn Pond in Wakefield, NH. Sally was an avid water skier and loved teaching her family and friends. Upon retirement, Sally and Roger settled in Wolfeboro, NH. They spent many wonderful years there. Sally loved playing golf, particularly enjoying the noon rounds at Kingswood Golf Course. She enjoyed her quiet time at home, completing her New York Times Crossword Puzzle every morning, watching Golf Tournaments, cheering on the Patriots, and reading Mystery Novels, but always looked forward to gathering with her Wolfeboro friends in town. Her family plans to have a celebration of her life at a later date.
