A Memorial service is planned for Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 1 PM at the Melvin Village Community Church to celebrate the life of Janet E Lavender of Sugar Hill, Wolfeboro N. H., who passed away December 15, 2010 after several months of failing health. Janet was born in West Medford, Massachusetts, the daughter of Lewis and Doris Ellis, and grew up and lived much of her life there and in Melrose, Ma.. She and her husband, the late John “Jack” Lavender retired to Center Tuftonboro N.H. in 1980 and enjoyed many happy years together in retirement in the Wolfeboro area. She was predeceased by her husband Jack and a brother, Robert Ellis. She is survived by her brother, Reverend Richard Ellis and wife Monica, their three sons and families; her daughter Cynthia Allen and husband Frank, and their three children: Frank III, and wife Tina; Jaime Tetrault and husband Nick; Katie Allen and spouse Tiana Veldwisch, and four great-grandsons; Jack and Max Allen and Isaiah and Ian Tetrault; her son, John R. Lavender Jr, and wife Martha, and their three children, Priscilla, John III, and Angela Lavender and a great-grandson, Mark. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Committal services will be held at the Tuftonboro Cemetery for family members immediately following the church service.
