Willian A. Morse

Wolfeboro, NH-William A. Morse, 85 of Taylor Drive died September 7, 2011 at his home with his wife and daughter at his side. Born in Joliet, IL January 3, 1926 son of the late Howard and Mabelle (Nobes) Morse, where he attended Joliet Schools. After graduating from Joliet Township High School he served his country during WWII with the United States Marine Corp. After being injured at Iwo Jima he was awarded the Purple Heart and then attended Joliet Junior College. In January 1949 he married Priscilla Roth and continued his education at the University of Illinois, Urbana, IL, where he graduated with a B.S. Degree in Sanitary Engineering. In 1950 his career took them to New York where they settled in Rye. Over the next 50 years he was a member of The Rye Presbyterian Church, Manursing Island Club and the Apawamis Club. He developed many close friendships enjoying tennis, bridge and golf. He lead a very active social life with friends and family whom he loved. During the late 1960’s he and partner Tom McCormack formed, Morse, McCormack Inc., where they served as manufactures representatives of environmental equipment. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He and Priscilla moved to the Taylor Community in Wolfeboro in 2001 so that they could continue spending summers at their cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee, where he enjoyed swimming, fishing and boating. He was an honest, non judgmental and generous man who spoke with wisdom and humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Priscilla (Roth) Morse of Wolfeboro, daughter Jeanette Morse of Moultonborough, NH, two sisters Shirley Hamilton and her late husband Robert of Joliet, IL, Janet Clinton and her husband Harold of Belleville, IL a sister in law and brother in law Jean and Robert Fitzer of Joliet, IL as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews who dearly loved there uncle Bill. At the request of Bill there will be no services. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice of Southern Carroll County, 240 South Main St., Wolfeboro, NH 03894
