(1924-2011) EDWARD B. VANDEWATER , After an extended illness, passed away on December 23, 2011. His residence, at the time, was Mount Dora, FL, where he and his wife spent their winters. Ed served in the Navy Air Corps during WW II. After his service to his country, he returned to William & Mary College to finish his education. Ed was a long time resident of Plaistow, N. H. where he owned and operated Plaistow Lumber and Supply Co, with his wife and son for 28 years. During that time, he served on the board of Directors at Plaistow Bank and Trust; and also Plaistow Cooperative Bank. He retired to Wolfeboro, N. H. in 1986, an avid skier and golfer also took time to enjoy traveling. Ed is survived by his wife Doris, after a wonderful marriage of 66 years; two sons, David W. and wife Tricia; and Todd E.; his Grandson Dane and wife Cheryl, three granddaughters, Jessica, Chelsea, and Erin and two Great Grandsons, Andrew, and Ethan. At Ed's request, there will be no calling hours, only a graveside service at Island Pond Cemetery in Harwich, on Cape Cod. Ed was a wonderful and loving husband and father to be remembered by us all. Anyone wishing celebrate Ed's life, in lieu of flowers may make a donation in his name to The American Cancer Society, The World Wildlife fund, or your local Hospice House.
