Wolfeboro, NH-Col. David A. West, of 7 Clark Rd., Wolfeboro died December 29, at his home. David was born in Boston, MA November 10, 1931 son of the late Harold W. and Helen (McKenzie) West. He graduated from Williams College in Williamstown MA and received his master’s degree from George Washington University. He served his country with the United States Air Force retiring after 25 years as a full Col. He served two years in Vietnam. During his service he received a number of military decorations including Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart and Air Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters. David was a member of the Valley of Portland Masonic Temple as a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner Upon his retirement from the Air Force Col. West worked for Lockheed-Martin in Orlando, FL as the manager of quality assurance for the Patriot Missile program. Pre-Deceased by a son David G. West he is survived by his wife of 58 years Dorothy (Wetherald) West of Wolfeboro and formerly of Marblehead, MA, 3 daughters Dianne Treadwell of Marblehead, MA, Sandra Jestus of Cookville, TN, Margaret James of Webster Grove, MO, a sister Cynthia Cremonni of Tenents Harbor, ME and 11 grandchildren. Private burial will be in Waterside Cemetery in Marblehead, MA.
