Charles Leo Werning, June 27, 1936-March 8, 2012 (75 years) Charles (“Chuck”) Leo Werning, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to many, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his wonderful wife, Marilyn Werning, both of his parents, Stacia & William Werning and one grandson, Alexander Werning. He leaves behind two daughters, Wendy Lee Killion of Wrentham, MA (and son-in-law, Jimmy), Vicki Ann Russell (and son-in-law, Christopher) of Seattle, WA, two sons, Eric Charles Werning (and daughter-in-law, Terri) of Youngstown, FL, William (Billy) Werning of Norwood, MA, five grandchildren, two step-sons, Keith Walsh of Wrentham, MA and Philip Walsh of Mansfield, MA, nine step-grandchildren, and three brothers, Donald Werning of NC, Jimmy Werning of FL and Eddie Werning of FL and their families. Chuck grew up in Walpole, MA. After graduating from Walpole High School, he worked for his family’s painting business for many years. He was also a member of the Army National Guard. After the family business dissolved he worked briefly as a Corrections Officer at Massachusetts Correctional Institute - Norfolk. He later worked in the Plant Operations department at Southwood Community Hospital in Norfolk, MA. He worked there for several years before moving to “God’s Country” and enjoying the position of Sexton at Saint Andrew’s-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church in Tamworth, NH. Chuck took great pleasure in living in a community where he knew many, and could chat with just about anybody with ease. His relationships were very special to him. Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Friday March 23, 2012 at Saint Andrew’s in the Valley, 678 Whittier Road, Tamworth, NH.
