Robert C. Wheelock

March 29, 1937 — July 4, 2012

Robert C. Wheelock, 75, of Silver Lake, NH, passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers on July 4th. Born on March 29, 1937, in Beverly, MA, he was raised and spent his childhood in Salem, MA. He excelled in the football program and was a 1955 graduate of Salem High School. He went on to serve 4 years in the United States Navy as a Control Room/Radio Broadcaster. After being honorably discharged, he began what was to be a 29 1/2 year career with Western Electric in North Andover, MA. He also married and began a family, which he promptly moved to Kingston, NH, in 1965 to raise. Ambitious to better himself and provide for his family, he attended night school at Merrimack College to get his degree in Electrical Engineering in 1975. Always a hard worker, he enjoyed working with his hands and had a great talent for wood working and building things to improve his homes. Also a fierce competitor and lover of sports, he was very involved with the Pop Warner Football organization when both of his sons played. Upon his retirement in 1992, he moved to Florida to play his beloved game of golf year round. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Buffelli of Silver Lake, NH, his sons Brian and wife Sung of Sandown, NH, and Gary and wife Kathy of Melrose, MA, grandsons Kyle Buffelli of Silver Lake, NH, Michael Eno of Sandown, NH, Ryan and Kevin Wheelock of Melrose, MA, brothers Charles and wife Sally Hogan of Spring Hill, FL, and Ronald and Carol Hogan of Spring Hill, FL, and his first wife Lynn Wheelock of Silver Lake, NH. He was predeceased by his mother Jeannette Denis Wheelock of Salem, MA in 1976. The family would like to thanks all the wonderful staff at The New Hampshire Veteran's Home in Tilton, NH, for their caring, help and support through such a difficult time. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held 11:00 AM Aug. 4, at the Baker-Gagne Funeral, Route 16 West Ossipee, NH. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to "The NHVH Resident Benefit Fund" at 139 Winter Street, Tilton, NH, 03276.
