Ruth Terrell Willgoose

Wolfeboro, N.H.- Ruth Terrell Willgoose, age 89, peacefully left us on July 14, 2012. Born in Lakewood, Ohio to Thomas and Edna Terrell, she graduated from Lakewood High School and subsequently studied at the Notre Dame College for Women and Syracuse University. During WWII, she served with commendation as a Sergeant in the US Army Air Force where she met Carl E. Willgoose, with whom she was married for 62 years until his death in 2008. A brother Robert and a sister Marion also predeceased her. Ruth always had a strong interest in music, the arts, and her community. She was an accomplished stained glass artisan whose juried works appeared in galleries around New England where her glass birds were especially well received. She was a hospital volunteer and solid supporter of the Wolfeboro Garden Club, Wolfeboro Arts Council, Cate Park, the Friends of Music and the Village Players. Ruth will be remembered as a lovely person, caring wife and mother, a loving grandmother and a devoted friend. Her four children, Thomas of Gilmanton Iron Works, NH, Richard of Henniker, NH, Laura (Roberts) of Colchester, VT, and James of Nashville, Illinois survive her, as do six grandchildren, extended family and special friends. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
