Tamworth-Marilyn “Mayno” Evans, 78, passed away at Golden View Health Care Center in Meredith after a long illness on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 with her husband and daughter by her side. Born in Laconia, NH October 8, 1933 she was the daughter of Thelma (Vittum) and Raymond Larrabee. Mayno graduated from Kennett High School in Conway, class of 1951. During her life she had a career working for the United States Postal Service for 28 years, retiring in 1992 from the position of Postmaster in Tamorth. She enjoyed her retirement years that followed by spending time with her husband at their winter home in Florida, returning each summer to their home in New Hampshire. Surviving family members include her Loving husband of 58 years, Gordon “Scott” Evans, her daughter, Wendy and husband James Wells of Moultonboro, her son Jeffrey of Reynoldsburg, OH and his companion, Kim Anderson, 5 grandchildren, Cori-Lynn Hughes and husband Juan of Sykesville, MD, Chad Burrows also of Sykersville, Zachary, Emily, and Nicholas Evans of Reynoldsburg, OH, 2 great-grandchildren, twins Addison and Jon Hughes. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Cindy A. Stanis, in 2000. She is also survived by two sisters, one brother, nieces, nephews and many other family members. A graveside service will be 1PM Saturday August 18, at the Wonalancent Cemetery with Pastor Murray Nickerson officiating. A gathering for friends and family will be held at Union Hall in South Tamworth following the service.
