Mary Kay Valley

New Durham-Mary Kay (Fesmire) Valley, 64 of Kings Highway, died in her home August 30, 2012. Mary was born in Willets, CA May 4, 1948 daughter of the late Robert and Dorotha (Wormington) Fesmire. She was a graduate of Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA. After college she worked at the University of California in Santa Cruz. She worked for several branches of the military for 12 years as a secretary – 3 years of which were in Germany where she met her future husband, Bob at the NCO Club. After moving to New Durham, Mary worked for Bowers and Merena, Alton Central School and as a secretary for the Governor Wentworth School System for 13 years before retiring in 2011. Pre-deceased by her husband of 36 years Robert Alan Valley, her twin sister Carrie Fesmire and a brother Robert Fesmire, she is survived by a brother Roland and his wife Ruth Fesmire of Capitola, CA, two sisters Lillian Savage of Washington State, Nolene and her husband Bill Hanson of CA, a step son Christopher Valley and his wife Jackie of Dover, a step daughter Rebecca Valley and two step grandsons Ameen Valley and Jacob Valley of Dover, several nieces and nephews, and her three “babies” Sara, Hopper and Shadow who are now all in new loving homes. At Mary’s request there will be no services. Mary’s many interests included reading and gardening. Her home was full of books and she had prolific vegetable and flower gardens and always made sure she planted enough to share with others. She was a very active member of Alanon for over 30 years. To many she was a lighthouse leaving a legacy of wisdom and marking her path with dignity and grace. Mary was always there to listen to and help others. She gave of herself and asked for nothing in return. She will be sorely missed by her many friends and family. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wolfeboro is assisting with the arrangements.
