Charles Harold Smith

Wolfeboro -Charles H. Smith, died Sept. 22, 2012 at Wolfeboro Bay Care and Rehabilitation in Wolfeboro. Charlie was born in Arlington, MA Feb. 3, 1944 the son of the late Earl and Celeste Smith, he has lived in the Lakes Region for over 40 years moving there from Concord, MA. He attended Wentworth Institute. He was a self-employed business entrepreneur, owning many businesses in the area and was a former owner of the Goodhue Hawkins Marina in Wolfeboro for over 40 years. Charlie donated land to the town of Ossipee for the Main St. Community in honor of his parents. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife Julie A. (Burns) Smith of Wolfeboro, a stepson Tyler Belanger, 2 step daughters Michayla Belanger, Mackenzie Belanger and a sister Joan and her husband Norman Harper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM Thursday Sept. 27, at St Katharine Drexell Church in Alton. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery Wolfeboro. A gathering will follow at the Whitelake Inn and Tavern in Tamworth. Donations may be made in his memory to the Lakes Region Humane Society, PO Box 655, Ossipee, NH 03864. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service in West Ossipee is assisting the family with the arrangements.
