Wolfeboro-Dorothy Evelyn (Kenney) Fernandez died November 2, 2012 at Wolfeboro Bay Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wolfeboro. Born in Dorchester, MA Nov. 3, 1922 daughter of the late Charles and Hilda (Chapman) Kenney, she was raised in Malverne, Long Island, attended Malverne High School and worked as an operator for New York Telephone. Dorothy moved to Melvin Village in 1955 where she was an active member of the Hikers as well as the American Legion Auxillary in Wolfeboro. She worked at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro as a Nurses Aide. In 1966 she moved to Miami, FL to be near family and worked at South Miami Hospital as a patient care technician, retiring after 20 years. In 1986, again following family she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she resided for 9 years before moving to Wolfeboro in 1994. Pre-Deceased by her husband George A. Fernandez in 1995, a son Richard V. Dow in 1985 she is survived by a son Donald Dow and wife Pauline of Tuftonboro, 2 daughters Linda Seeber and husband Dennis of Kennesaw, GA, Judy Paschal of Wolfeboro, a step-daughter Doris Izquierdo and husband Frank of Pembroke Pines, FL,6 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 10 great grandchildren, 3 sisters Patricia Billingham and husband Harry of Columbus, OH, Ruth O’Connor of Baltimore, MD, Barbara Wieser of Ft. Pierce, FL and a brother Richard Kenney of Pataskala, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wolfeboro Bay Care, Activities Dept., 39 Clipper Dr, Wolfeboro , NH 03894 A graveside service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday November 7, 2012 at Lakeview Cemetery in Wolfeboro.
