Chocorua-Harland (Snip) E. Ross, 80, of Maple Rd., died January 16, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. Born September 22, 1932 in Chocorua son of the late Harold and Grace (Kennett) Ross, he has been a life-long resident of Chocorua. During the Korean Conflict he served his country with the United States Air force stationed in Germany. Snip worked 30 years for L. M. Pike industries, retiring as a paving supervisor. Snip was a 47 year member of the American Legion and was instrumental in the installation of the Veteran’s Memorial in Tamworth. He also took it upon himself to make sure all of the Tamworth veterans are listed on the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC. He enjoyed photography, snowmobiling, was an avid NASCAR fan and had a NASCAR Souvenir store. Pre-deceased by 2 brothers Ernest and Kennett and a sister Virginia Randall, he is survived by his wife Mariette (Martin) Ross and several nieces and nephews and his cat George. . Calling hours will be Monday January 21 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service , Route 16 West Ossipee. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM January 22, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chocorua at a later date.
