Rev. Dennis Bowman Sr.

Wolfeboro-Rev. Dennis Bowman Sr. beloved husband of Velma Bowman went home to be with the Lord with his family and friends by his side, after a long battle with cancer on June 22, 2013. He was born in Newport Center, VT the fifth child of the late Baxter and Evelyn Bowman Wallace who predeceased him. Also predeceased by three brothers, Winston, Gerald and Leland. Dennis pastored church’s in VT, ME, NH, NY and Canada. The last two and half years the Congregational Church of Dalton, NH. (Coming out of retirement.) During his retirement years he loved motorhoming with his wife of 57 and a half years. Camping with his grandchildren and, great grandchildren, his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife Velma Bowman, his children Dennis Jr. and his wife Cindy of Cannan, ME, Judith and her husband Greg of Wolfeboro, Michael of Wolfeboro, John and his wife Patty of Sandpoint, Idaho, five grandchildren Shelli of Showhegan, ME, Gregory and his wife Venessa of Wolfeboro, Krista of Sohrenco, ME, Kerri-Lee of Wolfeboro, Tegan of Sandpoint, Idaho, four great grandchildren Sean and Alysa of Showhegan, ME, Tavin and Donavon of Wolfeboro, NH, his siblings Bernice and her husband George of Bellevue Washington, Durwood of Hindsdale, NH, Joyce and her husband David of Shirlye, MA, Marshall and his wife Esther of Newport, VT, Joan and her husband Cliff of Barton, VT, Linda and her husband Toni of Emmaus, PA, several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 AM Friday June 28, at the Crossroads Church, 2205 Route 16, West Ossipee, NH. Rev. Ronald Walton of Hollis, ME and Rev. Heath Keniston will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Wolfeboro, NH on Friday at 3:30 PM. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Crossroads Church in Memory of Pastor Bowman.
