Conway, NH-Lawrence A. Chase, 70 of Conway, died peacefully with family by his side on December 26, 2013 at the New Hampshire Veterans Hospital in Manchester, NH after a long battle with cancer. Born on Sept. 28, 1943, to the late Arnold and Beatrice (Hoyt) Chase, he grew up in Bartlett, NH and had been a life-long resident of the Mount Washington Valley area. Mr. Chase was a long time employee for the Yield House in North Conway and retiree of Pine Tree Elementary School. During the Vietnam era, he proudly served his country with the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Shangri-La CVA 38 as a quartermaster. He recently pursued a lifelong dream to fly remote control airplanes and joined the Mt. Washington Remote Control Club. Mr. Chase also highly enjoyed the beauty and recreational opportunities of the White Mountain National Forest throughout his life. Mr. Chase was pre-deceased by his wife, Cynthia Lee (Russell) Chase in 1999 and a brother Rodney Chase. He is survived by his two daughters Jessica Chase of San Diego, CA, Jenny (Chase) Cooper of Conway, and a brother Jerald Chase of Sebring, FL. A graveside service and celebration of life will be held in Conway Village Cemetery in the summer.
