Ossipee, NH-Robert “Smitty” Harold Smith, 74 of Nichols Rd., died January 9, at his home in Ossipee. Born in Salem, MA February 22, 1939 son of the late Harold and Jeanette (Bousquet) Smith he lived in Salem, MA most of his life moving to Ossipee in 1995. Smitty owned MS Auto in Peabody, MA and Transmission Plus. Prior to moving to New Hampshire he worked as a mechanic at Salem Oil Grease most recently working for Maine Gas in West Ossipee, NH. Pre-deceased by his wife Betty (Gould) Smith he is survived by 4 sons Wayne of Salem, MA Robert of Rowley, MA Raymond of Ossipee, Eric of Florida, 3 step daughters Denise Bennett of Tamworth, NH Debra Miller of Peabody, MA, Darlene Loft of Wakefield, MA 2 brothers Joseph of Lynn, MA Lawrence of MA, a sister Nancy Armstrong of MA, 13 grandchildren Samantha, Aaron, Steven, Craig, Ryan, Amber, Malachi, Reese, Blake, Ashtean, Korbyn, Heather Higgins and Michael Higgins. There are no services planned. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service of West Ossipee, NH is assisting the family with the cremation.
