Aldina Pacheco

Wolfeboro, NH-Aldina (Azevedo) Pacheco, 86, of Wolfeboro died February 4, 2014 at Wolfeboro Bay Center where she has been for several weeks. Aldina was born in Lawrence, MA October 8, 1927, daughter of the late Thiotonio and Mary (Sousa) Azevedo. She grew up in New Bedford and Lawrence, MA and moved to Wolfeboro in 2004 from Methuen, MA. While living in MA she was employed by and retired from Arlington Trust Company in Lawrence, where she worked as a telephone operator. Volunteering and giving back to others was an important part of Aldina’s life. She donated thousands of volunteer hours at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen and at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro where she was known for her comforting smile. After retirement Aldina spent many summers at Sandy Island Family Camp in Tuftonboro where she worked as Dining Room Supervisor and inspired campers with her work ethic and kindness. Aldina was considered a surrogate grandmother, Vovo as she was called, to many of the younger camp staff. She was also an active member of All Saints Church and the Lakes Region Newcomers Club and was known for her delicious scones which she baked for many community events. Pre-Deceased by her husband George Joseph Pacheco, she is survived by three sons, George and his wife Linda Pacheco of Wolfeboro, Stephen and his wife Doreen Pacheco of North Andover, MA, Michael Pacheco of Derry, NH, a daughter Maureen and her husband Robert Michaud of Dracut, MA, a sister Kathleen Hibbard of Vero Beach, FL, a daughter in law Karen Pacheco of Salem, NH, 8 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. A Memorial service will be held at All Saints Church, 258 So. Main St. in Wolfeboro, at 1 PM, February 15, 2014 with urn interment in the All Saints Memorial Garden. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wolfeboro is assisting the family with the arrangements.
