James Hogencamp

Fryeburg, ME-James Hogencamp, 89 of Ballard St., Fryeburg died December 27, 2015 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME. James was born in Spring Valley, NY April 22, 1926, the youngest son of the late Charles and Amy (Secor) Hogencamp. He grew up in Spring Valley and lived in Monroe, NY for 39 years prior to moving to Fryeburg in 1999. He enlisted at 17 years old and served his country in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the USS Intrepid. After his Honorable Discharge, James worked for American Cynamid at Lederle Laboratory in Pearl River, NY in Quality Control and Packaging. Along with his parents, James was predeceased by his sisters Celia Kuciej, Edith Raynack and Lillian Conklin, his brothers Charles and Albert Hogencamp and his wife of 55 years, Bernadette Anne (Lachat) Hogencamp. Survivors include his and Bernadette’s daughter Anne Marie Thornton and her husband Richard of Taylors, SC, his two grand-sons George W. Cornelius Jr. of Middleburg Fl., and James C. Cornelius of Allentown, PA, two great-grand-children and his sister-in-law Sr. Noella Lachat, O.S.F. of Allegany, NY. At James request, there will be no funeral or service. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home an Cremation Service of West Ossipee, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
