AGE: 83 • Wolfeboro, NH James P. Quinn, 83; of Wolfeboro, NH and Amelia Island, FL, formerly of Morris Township, NJ passed away on June 15, 2016 in Amelia Island. Jim was the beloved husband of nearly 60 years of Susan Harrison Quinn. He is survived by his children Timothy of Morris Township, NJ (Kathie), Maribeth Eppen of Chicago, IL(Greg), Michael of Moultonboro, NH (Debbie), Peter of Morris Township, NJ (Joanne), Brian of Poway, CA (Hilary) and Dan of Suwanee, GA (Stacey) as well as 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents Gregory Leo and Josephine Black Quinn and his infant son James Gregory. Jim was a great and loyal friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed golf and travel. He was a long time member of Spring Brook Country Club, Morris Township, NJ and Bald Peak Colony Club, Melvin Village, NH. One of his last and most memorable trips with his wife Sue was an opportunity to take a cruise around the world. A graduate of Northwestern University (and active alumnus), Jim started his career with Aetna Casualty and Surety, Inc. in Chicago, IL. He moved with Aetna to New York City in 1960 where he became the Bond Manager. In 1972 Jim joined Swiss Re America Corporation (formerly North American Re) and held various titles including the title of Executive Vice-President for the Special Lines Group. Jim was promoted to President & Chief Operating Officer of Western Atlantic Reinsurance Corporation, a subsidiary of Swiss Re America Corporation, a position he held for several years prior to retiring in 1995. Jim was elected North Eastern Regional Vice President for the CPCU Society. He was also a graduate of the Stanford University Executive Management Program. A funeral mass will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Church, Alton, NH at 11:00am on Monday, June 27, 2016. Internment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Wolfeboro, NH following the funeral Mass.
