Arlene Claire Fair

Arlene Claire Fair, passed away peacefully on December 18 at her home in Mirror Lake, NH after a short but courageous battle with a brain tumor with her family by her side, she was 88 years young. Born September 28, 1932 in Boston, MA daughter of the late Earle and Anna (Zenis) Smith she lived in Quincy, MA and Braintree, MA prior to moving to Wolfeboro in 1974, where she and her husband operated the Village Host Deli for 25 years before retiring in Mirror Lake. After which they enjoyed their time traveling extensively and spending time with family and friends. Arlene spent many years volunteering at Huggins Hospital before her ‘second retirement’ to become her husband’s fulltime caregiver. She married the love of her life, George W. Fair on October 3, 1959 and together they raised six children. They were married just over 60 years when George passed away on June 14, 2020. Arlene’s genuine demeanor and joy for life will be greatly missed by all that were lucky enough to have known her. Survivors include her 4 sons; William Fair and his wife Charlyne of Anchorage, Alaska, Thomas Fair and his fiancée Michelle of Manchester, NH, Steven Fair and his wife Maria of Sunapee, NH, Daniel Fair of Mirror Lake, NH and 2 daughters Julie Carbonneau of Manchester, NH and Donna Hamill and her husband Jim of Wolfeboro, NH, 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Arlene was predeceased by her brother and best friend Robert Smith. No Services are planned at this time.
