Arthur Leroy Martin

Arthur “Art” Leroy Martin, 83, passed away March 5th, 2022 at his home in Mirror Lake, NH with his children by his side. Art was born in Danvers, MA June 27, 1938, son of the late Francis G. and Marion F. (Connors) Martin. He grew up in Danvers and the family then moved to Middleton, MA where he resided until marrying Nancy (Sedler) Martin in 1961, moving to West Newbury, MA to raise their family. After a brief time back in Middleton to care for his dad in the late 90’s he then moved to Mirror Lake, NH to be closer to his children. Art is a 1956 graduate of Holten (Danvers) High School and a graduate of Northeastern University. He spent the majority of his working career until his retirement at General Electric in Lynn, MA. His retirement was spent supporting the family on their mechanical and construction projects, putting to work his amazing intellect to solve complex challenges. He was the keeper of the family lineage and history and kept his mind sharp with his routine of completing 3 crossword puzzles daily. Art is survived by his two children and their spouses, Douglas & Paula (Engheben) Martin of Tuftonboro, NH and Donna (Martin) Lawless & Thomas Owen of Orford, NH. He leaves 5 grandchildren, Emily & Austin Martin and Matthew, Connor & Nicole Lawless. He also leaves behind his brother Frank and his wife Marie, and their families, residing in Ireland, and extended family in New York. Donna and Douglas would like to thank Lakes Region Visiting Nurse Association, Home Care & Hospice for the care and support provided to them and their dad.
