Wolfeboro-Cynthia, “Cindy,” (Cann) Wheeler, 59, passed away April 19th at her home with her family at her side after a nine year battle with cancer. Cindy was born in Kittery, ME Dec. 2nd, 1959. She was the daughter of Gordon and Delores (Davenport) Cann. In 1970 she moved to Wolfeboro with her family from Rye Beach NH. Cindy met her high school sweetheart, Rick Wheeler while attending Kingswood Regional High School. The two graduated in 1977 and were married in Monterey, CA. After Rick got out of the Army, the two bought a house in Wolfeboro where they raised their two children Kevin and Sarah-Beth. Last October Rick and Cindy celebrated 40 years of marriage. Cindy will be remembered for her smile which could light up any room, her contagious sense of humor, and for living and loving life with a passion. She was adventurous and always the first one on the dance floor! Cindy’s heart was full of love for her family and friends. She loved her kids and grandkids immensely, always anxious to spend time with them laughing and enjoying time together. When the snow melted, she enjoyed motorcycle trips through the mountains and camping every weekend that she could in her camper. She loved the lake and enjoyed swimming and waterskiing with friends and family. Cindy was known to never shy away from a challenge. She could bake like a pro, tile any floor, or design any piece of furniture! She always had a project going, nothing kept her down! Cindy is survived by her husband Richard Wheeler of Wolfeboro, her father and mother Gordon and Delores (Davenport) Cann of Venice, FL, a son Kevin and his wife Kimberlee Wheeler of Campton, a daughter, Sarah-Beth, her husband Eric Booker of Barnstead, brother William Cann and his wife Lisa of Franklin, brother Robert Cann and his wife Janice of Wolfeboro, her 4 grandchildren Sean, Hallie, Jayden, and Lexie, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Ossipee on Saturday, April 27 at 10am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Central NH VNA and Hospice, 780 N. Main St., Laconia, NH 03246.
