Dorothy Marie Boyle - 81 of Wolfeboro, NH, passed away August 8, at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover after a long illness.
Born in Bronxville, NY December 16, 1942, and raised in Eastchester, NY, she is the daughter of the late Rocco and Theresa (Palko) Rescigno Sr., Dorothy married Thomas Boyle on January 30, 1965, and moved to Wolfeboro in 2006 permanently to enjoy their retirement years.
Early on, Dorothy started her career working in Accounting for Nestle Food USA where she worked for several years. She made a career move to work for the Tarrytown School System as District Treasurer where she retired after ten years of service.
She was a member of the Ladies of the Lakes Quilters’ Guild. Dorothy loved quilting and volunteering her time collecting quilts for the Children’s Advocacy Center. She was involved in making “quillows” for the children at the advocacy center. She had a passion for cooking in her earlier years, preparing holiday meals for the large family that gathered. She continued that passion for food and always had new recipes to try with family and friends. In her earlier years, she enjoyed fishing and boating with her husband. To all her nieces and nephews, “Aunt Dot”, was the life of the party at family gatherings. She was loved dearly by all and will be deeply missed.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 59 years Thomas Boyle of Wolfeboro, two sisters, Beatrice Kilgallon of Wolfeboro and Audrey Palerino of Delray Beach, FL and a brother Rocco Rescigno Jr., of Vonore, TN and her many nieces and nephews.
