Dorothy Ann Caspar

Dorothy Ann Caspar, 92, of 83 Rolling Wood Dr Wolfeboro, NH, passed away June 27, 2022 at the Taylor Home in Laconia with her close friend Barbara Dorsey by her side. Ann was born in Andover MA, on November 25, 1929, to the late Frederick G. Caspar and Dorthy Ruth (Swanton) Caspar. Ann earned an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Skidmore College and a subsequent Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Tufts University. Following graduation Ann taught preschool in Rochester, NY, and New Haven, CT . Ann retired from teaching to pursue a career in catering. She attended the Restaurant School in Philadelphia, PA. She subsequently returned to her parent’s home in Andover to run a small catering business, creating wonderful appetizers in her family’s kitchen. Following the death of her father, Ann and her mother Dorothy moved to Wolfeboro to be closer to her mother’s sisters, Mandy and Helen. Wolfeboro truly became Ann’s home. She was a founding sister of the P.E.O. Chapter P-Wolfeboro,NH, where she was able to meet and enjoy her many friends, actively participating in meetings and annual conferences. She was active in the Wolfeboro Garden Club. Ann enjoyed summer theater . She also made an annual trip to West Bath, ME where she and her cousin Norma Cowan would spend time at Norma’s cottage on the New Meadows River. Ann was a member of the First Christian Church where for many years she would meet with friends on Thursday mornings to fold the weekly church bulletins for the Sunday service. Ann is survived by her first cousin Cynthia Dunlap of Bangor, ME, her cousin-in-law Norma Cowan of Belfast, ME, and her cousin Martha Campbell and husband Dr. Jason Campbell of Carrabassett Valley, ME. She also leaves behind her dear friends Pat and Frank Blundo and their children and grandchildren who invited Ann to their holiday gatherings for many years. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Christian Church of Wolfeboro, on July 28, 2022 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s name can be made to the First Christian Church of Wolfeboro. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with the arrangements.
