Edgar Edward Merrithew

March 21, 1929 — August 27, 2017

Tamworth, NH-Edgar Edward Merrithew, 88, of May’s Way, Tamworth, died August 27, at Mountain View Community in Ossipee, NH.   Born in Saugus, MA March 21, 1929 son of the late Roger Merrithew and Ethel (Bloom) Ludwig he lived in Malden and Saugus, MA moving to Sandwich, NH in 1972 and retiring toTamworth in 2000.   Edgar owned the North Sandwich Store from 1972-1975 and he delivered mail in Tamworth for 28 years. He was a member and was very active with the Community Church of Sandwich.   Edgar served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.   Survivors include his wife Lois (Callahan) Merrithew of Tamworth, 3 sons Dana Merrithew and his wife, Jane of Rumney, NH, Scott Merrithew of Tamworth, Brad Merrithew of Ossipee, 2 daughters Susan Steeves of Tamworth, Judy Tuscano and her husband Michael of North Hampton, NH, a brother John Harper of Peabody, MA, a sister, Ruth Kelly of CT, 12 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild. He was predeceased by his brothers, Roger and William and sisters, Margie, Jenny, and Doris, and great granddaughter, Chloe.   A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM, Saturday, September 2 at the Community Church of Sandwich. Burial will be at a later date in the Vittum Hill Cemetery.   The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service of West Ossipee is assisting the family with the arrangements.   Donations may be made in his memory to:_Community Church of Sandwich, P.O.
