Edward J. Cronin, 87 of Wolfeboro, NH and Naples, FL passed away July 25, at his home with his family at his side. Born in Roxbury, MA August 7, 1932 son of the late John and Mary (Cannon) Cronin, and brother of the late Marjorie (Cronin) Coppenrath and her husband Leonard (also deceased), and the late John (Chubby) Cronin, he lived in the Boston area and moved to Wolfeboro 20 years ago after summering in Meredith for many years. Edward served his country with the United States Navy. He was proprietor of Cronin’s Tavern in South Boston and West Roxbury. While living in the Boston area he was a member of the American Legion in Dover, MA and the Elks in West Roxbury, MA. In New Hampshire he was a communicant of St. Katharine Drexel Church in Alton, NH. Edward is survived by his wife of 63 years Helen (McDonnell) Cronin, 2 sons Michael and his wife Sheila of Alton, and Mark of West Roxbury and his partner Alice Peterson. He is also father to Kathleen Keene (deceased) and her husband Robert. Edward was blessed with 8 grandchildren John Cronin, Daniel Cronin and his wife Kathryn, and Dylan, Nicala, Douglas, Martin, Maeve and Derek Keene. A Memorial Mass will be at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 40 Hidden Springs Rd., Alton NH on August 7 at 11:00 am, followed by burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Wolfeboro.
