Elizabeth Ann Brooks (Guay) passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on July 25, 2022 in Tuftonboro, NH. She was born December 5, 1950 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, daughter of Eleanor C. Smith (Maskell). Elizabeth moved with her mother and sisters to the United States in 1967 when Eleanor met and married Howard F. Smith Jr., who happily took on the title of “Dad” to Elizabeth and her sisters. She met the love of her life and best friend, Alan Brooks in 1972 and they married in 1973, ultimately settling in New Boston, NH where they raised their cherished daughters, Stephanie and Jennifer. In recent retirement years, Elizabeth and Alan moved to Mirror Lake in Tuftonboro, NH, where the serenity, wildlife and beauty brought them both so much joy and peace. Elizabeth utilized the abundant empathy and compassion that has always filled her heart towards a 20+ year career in the medical field as an LNA, primarily at The Courville at Manchester. She found beauty in everything; nature, animals, flowers and especially in the plants she grew from seedlings to the lush thriving jungle known as her living room. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Alan Brooks of Tuftonboro, NH; her beloved daughters, Stephanie Brooks of Wilmington, N.C. and Jennifer Brooks of Concord, NH; the light of her life, her granddaughter, Ashlyn Brooks, also of Wilmington, N.C.; her siblings, Lynda Sawicki and her husband Gary of Loudon, TN., Debra Myers and her husband, Steven of Hoschton, GA, Susan Curran and her husband Joseph of Rochester, NH, William Smith and his wife Kelly of Merrimack, NH and Dawn Smith and her wife Susan Piche of Goffstown, NH, in addition to several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her father, Howard, in 1997, her mother, Eleanor, in 2017 and brother, John, in 1996. Elizabeth…Lizzie…you will always be on our minds when we see a majestic cardinal, a beautiful butterfly or vibrant flowers. We will think of your one of a kind laugh and we'll smile. Now...pour some tea and catch up with Mom. A private family gathering will take place and a public Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
