Eugene Stephen Schulz

June 2, 1938 — March 27, 2019

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019 Eugene (Gene) Stephen Schulz of Sanbornville, NH passed away at the age of 80 years in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.   He was born in Washington Heights, New York City, son of Karl and Marian Schultz, where he earned the nickname “Tuffy” from his family and closest friends. Gene enjoyed summers at Mountain Lodge Park in Washingtonville, NY where he was an avid hunter, fisherman, life guard, and volunteer Fireman. He also served with the National Guard in the Detroit Riots of 1967.   Armed with a degree in Business Administration he worked for Burroughs Corporation, Wang Laboratories, and eventually started his own business, Midware Technology.   It was his years in Andover, MA where he was a member of the Boston Rotary Club, Andover Sportsman Club, supporter of the Andover High School Marching Band, and leader of the Andover Boy Scout Explorer Troup.   Gene retired “Up Country” to his vacation home in Sanbornville, NH where he became President of the Pine River Association and 2014 Volunteer of the Year at the Wright Museum. He also enjoyed a good John Wayne film and exceptionally bad “Dad” jokes.   Gene is forever remembered by his wife of 58 years, Gail of Sanbornville, NH, son Andrew of Arizona, daughter Stefanie and of Arizona, grandson Alexander of Arizona, granddaughter Kira of Arizona, brother Richard of New York, and sisters Marion and Deborah of Florida. At his request there will be no services.
