Frances Lilla Brownell

Frances Lilla Brownell, 93, of Moultonville Rd., Center Ossipee, passed away suddenly on June 4 at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
Born May 31, 1930, daughter of the late Charles and Lilla (Pennell) Williams, she grew up in Tamworth and lived in Center Ossipee for most of her life. She is predeceased by her siblings Charles, Richard, Agnes, Mildred, Paul, Robert and Beverly and a grandson, Matthew Michael Conner.
Frances worked as a waitress at Sunny Villa Restaurant in Ossipee for many years and then at Smith Pharmacy in Center Ossipee. Prior to that in the 1960s, Fran and her two sisters ran and operated The Three Sisters Restaurant in Center Ossipee, serving delicious homemade food - Fran was an excellent cook and baker her entire life! She was a long time member of the Moultonville United Methodist Church and is well-known for her pies for church suppers and for her delicious fudge. Fran's life was filled with family gatherings and always thinking of others - especially her husband, children and grandchildren.
Fran leaves behind her husband of 70 years, Laurence Brownell (102) of Center Ossipee, her sons, Stephen Brownell of Center Ossipee, NH and Michael Brownell and wife Ginger of Freedom, NH, her daughters, Melanie Conner and husband Michael of Ashland, MA and Debbie Brownell of Concord, NH. Her grandchildren, Kimberly Jordan and husband Tye, Laura Conner, Benjamin Brownell, Christine and Samuel Brownell, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, June 16th, 6-8 pm at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home, 2395 White Mountain Highway, West Ossipee, NH.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday June 17th at 2 pm at the Moultonville United Methodist Church, 96 Moultonville Rd, Center Ossipee, NH. Interment of ashes will follow at the Chickville Cemetery in Center Ossipee, NH. The family welcomes everyone back to the Moultonville United Methodist Church for light refreshments and to share their memories of Frances.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fran's memory to the Moultonville United Methodist Church, 96 Moultonville Rd, Center Ossipee, NH 03814.
