Frank John DiFruscio Jr

Frank DiFruscio of Tamworth New Hampshire, age 86 passed away October 28, 2017, in Conway, New Hampshire, after a brief illness. He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on December 27, 1930.   He is survived by Mary Zito DiFruscio, his spouse of 66 years of Tamworth, New Hampshire, a son Frank DiFruscio, and his wife Jane, of Jackson, New Hampshire, and a daughter Claudia DiFruscio, and her husband Steve Rule, of Bow, New Hampshire. He leaves a brother, Orlando DiFruscio of Methuen, Massachusetts, and a sister, Justine DiFruscio of Methuen, Massachusetts and many nieces and nephews, including Donald & Dorothy Walter of Beverly, Massachusetts, with whom they spent many enjoyable luncheons together.  Frank was predeceased by his brother Rudolph DiFruscio of Lawrence, Massachusetts.   Frank served in the Navy during the Korean conflict on the USS Iowa from 1949 to 1952. After the service in 1952 he became a proud member of Laborers Union Local 175 of Lawrence, Massachusetts.  He was awarded a Gold Union Card for 50 years of membership of Local 175.  All told he had been a union member of Union Local 175 for 65 years.  The DiFruscio family moved to Salem, New Hampshire, in 1963 and Frank and Mary then retired to Tamworth, New Hampshire, in 1990.  Frank and Mary spent many happy years wintering on Anna Maria Island, Florida.    Frank was skilled working on many different construction projects over his lifetime. He loved making furniture for his family and there wasn’t much he couldn't do with his hands.  He was a diehard fan of the New York Yankees and a solid fan of the New England Patriots.  Another one of his great pleasures was going to the horse races at Rockingham Park in Salem, New Hampshire.    There will be no calling hours and services will be private.
