New London, NH-Franklin Potter Swain, Jr. 85, died May 9, 2011 at the Clough Center in New London, NH. Mr. Swain was born in Lynn, MA January 3, 1926 son of the late Franklin Potter and Grace (Deagle) Swain Sr. He grew up in Marblehead, MA, lived in Andover, MA for 40 years, moved to New Durham, NH in 1994 and has lived in New London for the past 4 years. He was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla # 38 out of Newburyport, MA, for more than thirty years, was active in Christ Church in Andover, and was a 32nd degree Shriner. Before serving in the Korean Conflict with the United States Army, he attended Northeastern University and the Huntington School for Boys in Boston, MA. Pre-Deceased by his wife Marilyn (Groff) Swain he is survived by 2 sons Franklin Potter Swain III of Novato, CA, Mark A Swain of Lyneborough, NH, a daughter Sandra Bromwell of New London, a brother Phillip C. Swain of Norwood, MA and 5 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 6 at 11:00 am at the All Saints Church in Wolfeboro, NH. Burial will be in Christ Church Center beside his wife. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to William P.
