George Joseph Demers

Tuftonboro-George Joseph Demers, 84 of Mountain Rd., Center Tuftonboro, passed away Wednesday February 26, at his home with his family at his side. Born in Lawrence, MA December 7, 1935 son of the late Alphie Joseph and Laurina (Hamel) Demers he lived in Lawrence until moving to New Hampshire in 1985. George was a self-employed upholsterer for many years. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Center Ossipee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mowing his lawn on his tractor. Very much a handyman he built his own shop, barn and garage. George is survived by his wife of 58 years Lorraine (Morrison) Demers, a daughter Judy (Demers) Spaziano of Wolfeboro, 3 grandchildren Candice Marcoullier, Cassie Spaziano, Jay J. Spaziano, 4 great grandchildren Caia Mansfield, Natalie Marcoullier, Noah Mansfield, and Ethan Marcoullier. George also leaves behind 2 brothers Raymond J Demers of Ossipee, Rene J Demers of Haverhill, MA and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home at a later date. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Homes and Cremation Service of Wolfeboro is assisting the family with the arrangements.
