George William Fair, 89, passed away June 14 at his home in Mirror Lake, NH. Born August 13, 1930 in Quincy, MA son of the late James Robert and Florence (Morse) Fair he lived in Quincy, MA and Braintree, MA prior to moving to Wolfeboro in 1974. George served his country as a Marine during the Korean War. After the military he worked in Quincy, MA for Duane Demolition Company before moving to Wolfeboro where he and his wife operated the Village Host Deli for 25 years before their retirement. After George and Arlene retired they moved from their home in Wolfeboro to a condominium on the Basin on Lake Winnipesaukee where he appointed himself the property manager for the condo association tending to the gardens and maintaining the buildings. George and Arlene enjoyed traveling, especially cruises with his brother John and his wife Lucy. George loved boating on the lake and doing crossword puzzles in his spare time. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Arlene Claire (Smith) Fair of Mirror Lake, NH, 4 sons William Fair and his wife Charlyne of Anchorage, Alaska, Thomas Fair and his girlfriend Michelle of Manchester, NH, Steven Fair and his wife Maria of Sunapee, NH, Daniel Fair of Mirror Lake, 2 daughters Julie Carbonneau of Manchester and Donna Hamill and her husband Jim of Wolfeboro, NH, 2 brothers John Fair and his wife Lucy of Quincy, MA and Francis Fair of Texas as well as his sister Ann Patten and her husband Dick of Wareham, MA, 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by 5 of his siblings. No Services are planned at this time. His family plans to have a celebration of his life at a later date.
