James W Rogers January 1, 1939 - April 3 2020 James W Rogers of Mirror Lake, NH and Savannah, GA passed away suddenly on April 3rd, 2020. His wife, Thea Rogers, was by his side. Jim loved Wolfeboro, its history and community. His ancestors in Wolfeboro date back to the 1700s. As a child, Jim lived with his grandmother, Margaret Wallace Rogers, in the family home next to the First Christian Church. He took delight in ringing the church bell to let all know that services were about to begin. Jim received his degree in Electrical Engineering from Lowell Tech and in 1960 started his career working for Sanders Associates. He spent much of his working life in the defense and aerospace industries. From there he shared his expertise at Defense Systems Inc., Systems Development Corporation, Allied Bendix Aerospace and BAE Systems. He retired in 1998. Jim was a member of the Rotary, was President of the Wolfeboro Historical Society and was an alumnus of Brewster Academy. He spent many years overseeing and working on the restoration of the Clark House Museum complex, as well as educating the public about the history and virtues of Wolfeboro. He was instrumental in the addition of the "Barn" which now serves as the Visitor and Genealogy Center. Jim also loved hockey, which he played as a youth. He attended many games and followed his favorite team, the Boston Bruins. Jim was also known to sing a song or two at many karaoke venues. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Thea Rogers and their three sons: James and wife Laura of Sitka, Alaska, Duncan and his wife Samia of Wimauma, Florida and Darrel and his wife Auralinda of Alamogordo, NM. His brother Steven Rogers and wife Cathy of Harrison. Michigan. He had multiple grandchildren: Noah Rogers and his wife Ingrid Sandoval Gonzalez; Shaniqua Jackson and her children, Ava and Dekard; Corey DePhillipo and husband Anthony and their child, Anthony; Duncan Rogers; Jessica DeAngelis and husband Douglas and her children, Emma and Ben. Jim will be buried at the Lakeview Cemetery in Wolfeboro, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Wolfeboro Historical Society or the Pop Whalen Ice and Arts Center in Wolfeboro, NH. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wolfeboro is assisting the family with the arrangements.
