Jane Hine Talpey

Wolfeboro, NH.   Jane (Hine) Talpey, 99, a resident of Sugar Hill Community in Wolfeboro, died peacefully at home on September 28, 2017.   Jane was born February 24, 1918 in Gloversville, NY, daughter of the late Walter and Leah (Hulbert) Hine. She lived for many years in Madison, NJ, and moved to Mirror Lake, NH in 1978.   Jane was a Girl Scout Leader and volunteer for many years on the local and district level. She was active with the Thursday Morning Club, volunteered at the Community House, and was a 3500 hour volunteer at Huggins Hospital. She was a life member of the Ladies of the Lake Quilters Guild. Jane and her husband Dick loved the outdoors and spent time throughout their lives hiking, camping and skiing. They also loved to square dance, spending many hours arm in arm on the dance floor with friends and fellow dancers.   Pre-deceased by her husband Richard G. Talpey in 2008, and a sister, Barbara Finch, she is survived by a daughter, Marlee Richardson and her partner William Wyckoff of Broomfield, CO,  a son, Rick Talpey and his wife Patricia of Westbrook, CT, 6 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.   A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 7 followed by burial at Townhouse Cemetery in Tuftonboro, NH.   The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Wolfeboro and West Ossipee, NH is assisting the family with the arrangements.   Please share your messages, stories, or leave a short note and sign an online guest book at www.baker-gagnefuneralhomes.com
