John Keefe Glidden, 71 of North Main St., Wolfeboro, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning July 16, 2022 in Wolfeboro. Born in Wolfeboro December 3, 1950 son of the late Gordon and Isabelle (Powers) Glidden. He has lived in Wolfeboro most of his life. John graduated from Kingswood High School class of 1969. He retired from Metrocast cable company after 32 years. He couldn’t sit still during retirement so he took up part time jobs just to keep busy. He was dedicated to the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Browns, no matter how bad they played. John enjoyed golfing, working on lawnmowers, painting, Vacations to Bermuda and Myrtle Beach, yard sales, feeding the daily critters that came into the yard, playing miniature golf, (where he always thought he was the true peoples champion). He loved his 2 kitties, his Friday night phone call from Bill Hooper and always loved getting together with family and friends. He was truly a great person and will be missed by all that knew him. Survivors include his fiancée of 17 years Joyce Libby of Wolfeboro, a son John K. Glidden Jr and his wife Erin of Freedom, a daughter Stephanie Glidden and husband Bill Poland of Limerick, ME, 2 sisters Sally and husband Leonard Popowitz of Atkinson, NH, Mary Cleary of West Newbury, MA and 2 grandchildren Alexander and Gregory Dubuc, 2 nephews James Shannon and Mike Cleary, 3 grand nephews Jimmy, Patrick and Ryan. He also leaves an extended family, John and Lindsay Libby and daughters Erin and Megan, Andy and Jen Libby and daughters Nora and Tessa, who called him Papa John.
