Joshua Douglas Madden

November 15, 1993 — August 26, 2022

Joshua Douglas Madden, 28, of Center Tuftonboro, NH passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2022 in Concord, NH. Josh was born in Laconia, NH on November 15, 1993 to parents Douglas and Kimberly (Todesco) Madden. He was the second oldest of four children and cherished every memory he made with his family. As the first son, Josh and his Dad shared many hobbies over the years. This includes getting his first dirt bike, in which they would race motocross together, and his kitty cat snowmobile that he would try to keep up with his Dad’s skidoo on. Josh remained his Dad’s sidekick throughout the years and will be missed tremendously, even just for drives into town. Josh attended Tuftonboro Elementary School, where he met some of his lifelong best friends. He later attended Kingswood Regional High School in Wolfeboro, NH and then Largo High School in Florida after moving for a few years to live with his Mom. Florida was a place of many special memories throughout his life, as it was always the destination of family road trip vacations and then later a place he also called home with his Mom, siblings, Gram, and Aunt Linda. Josh spent time working with various local landscaping companies, as well as learning the skills of carpentry with his Dad and brother Nick. Josh’s many talents were impressive to all who he shared them with. He spent countless hours on his skateboards and could be found learning tricks in the garage or riding on his own halfpipe that his Dad built in the backyard. Josh lived his life through his eyes and ears, channeling his talents through art and music. He found peace and comfort while sitting with a sketch pad or with one of his many guitars in his arms. Music was one of his greatest passions and his family’s porch will not be the same without his jam sessions. Josh’s heart was so much bigger than most and his love for his family and friends was unconditional. He had the gentlest soul. His kindness and his genuine sincerity for all people was more than admirable. If his kindness could be bottled and shared with the world, it would be the better place that he always dreamed of. Although seemingly quiet to most, Josh was often the funniest person in the room and there was nothing like the smirk on his face after his jokes landed. The hole that Josh leaves is unmeasurable for his family and friends and his smile will be missed every day. Josh is survived and will be missed by his parents Douglas and Kimberly (Todesco) Madden, big sister Amanda MacIver and brother-in-law Conner MacIver, brother and best friend Nicholas Madden, sister and birthday buddy Emily Madden; his maternal grandmother Madelyn Todesco; his niece and nephew Riley and Jack MacIver, whom he adored; his many aunts and uncles, including his biggest fan and lifeline Jennifer (Benniber) Morrill, Russell and Kristen Madden, Peggy and Gene Spencer, Marsha Hansen, Steve and Amy Madden, Mark and Marianna Madden, and Linda Jamieson. Josh is predeceased by his uncle Ricky Madden, who was a very special person to him throughout his life. Josh will also be missed by his many cousins, friends and those whose lives he touched. Josh’s life will be celebrated at his family’s home in Center Tuftonboro. Details will be provided by the family. If desired, donations can be made in Josh’s memory to Northern Human Services to further support mental health awareness and support. Josh lived with schizophrenia and never stopped working to find his peace. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home of Wolfeboro, NH is assisting the family with the arrangements.
