Leon (Lee) A Pierce, Jr. died at home peacefully in Wolfeboro, NH on November 21, 2022 at the age of 92. He was born to Leon and Gladys (Haug) Pierce on August 14, 1930 in Orange, NJ. He had two brothers who he predeceased, Donald and Roger. Graduating from Ramsey High in 1948, he completed his BS in Business Administration at Rutgers University in 1952. Shortly afterward Lee entered the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant on active duty during the Korean War. It was during that time he married his high school sweetheart, Helene Hobart, from Ramsey NJ on October 10, 1952. When he was honorably discharged from the Army at the end of the war, he began a career in management with NJ Bell Telephone Company. Lee and Helene had their first child, Linda, in 1955 and subsequently Nancy in 1958 and Greg in 1959 residing in Mendham and Brookside NJ. During that time, Lee was active in community activities serving on the school board and as an elected official in the local government. In 1969 Lee left NJ Bell and began a new career with Merrill Lynch in Burlington, MA, with the family moving to Amherst, NH. Not too long after, Lee was promoted to manage the new office in Manchester, NH. With retirement on the horizon in 1998, he and Helene chose to relocate to Wolfeboro NH on Lake Winnipesauke enjoying lake activities. After retirement they travelled extensively throughout Europe, China, Bermuda, Alaska, Australia and New Zealand. Lee is predeceased by his daughter Nancy, brothers Donald and Roger Pierce and brother-in-law John Schlenker. He is survived by his wife Helene of 70 years, daughter Linda, her husband William, their two sons, Jonathan and Stephen from Bermuda, as well as son Gregory and wife Lynne from N Attleboro MA.
