Margaret “Peg” Roxana Henderson Hines Crawford, known to her grandchildren as “Beabop,” passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2021, surrounded by her much-beloved family. Peg was born October 3, 1940 in Lewiston, Maine. A person of strong faith, Peg lived a life of service and volunteered for a wide variety of causes in her local communities, which included Wakefield, Tuftonboro, and Wolfeboro in her later years. She also founded and ran the destination establishments Crawley Falls Antiques in Brentwood and Cottonboro Farm in Wakefield. Most recently, she was an active member of First Congregational Church Wolfeboro. Peg loved her family and good friends, music, interior design, boat rides on Lake Wentworth, and providing unsolicited yet uncannily accurate advice—she wasn’t lecturing, it was just a “teaching moment!” Her vibrant spirit lives on through her husband, Hugh Crawford; her children Edward Hines and wife Amy, Maureen Olsen and husband Bob, and Timothy Hines and wife Karen; her eight grandchildren—Megan, Anna, Brittany, Conner, Eddie, Morgan, Maeve and Stella— and three great-grandchildren—Macie, Nathan, and Noah; and her extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by and now joins her daughters Kathleen Robinson and Colleen Hines and her first husband, Edward Hines. The family is enormously grateful to Lakes Region Visiting Nurse Association Hospice and especially Nurse Nichole for their excellent support, compassion, and care through the latter part of Peg’s journey with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Due to COVID, services will be private. Donations in her memory can be made to Life Ministries Food Pantry in Wolfeboro, Lakes Region Visiting Nurse Association Hospice, or IPFFoundation.org. Peg’s granddaughter Stella also asks that friends play a game of Wordscapes in her memory.
