Myrtle Mae MacLeod 91, of Freedom NH passed away July 21, 2023, peacefully with her beloved husband of 67 years and family at her side.
Born June 30, 1932, in Inverness NS, Daughter of Dolena and Ronald MacInnis. Myrtle was educated as a medical assistant and went to work at the Hale Hospital for many years.
She found comfort and joy in serving others participating in church activities. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting and cooking, especially her family's favorite, apple pie.
She was fearless, independent and incredibly compassionate. Myrtle loved traveling, spending her winters in Florida and vacationing with her siblings in Nova Scotia and spending time with her family.
She was always asked to bring either her apple pie or famous potato salad to every family event.
Donald and Myrtle built their life together residing in Newton NH for 48 years, raising a family of 3 before moving to Freedom in 2006.
She is survived by her loving husband Donald, three children, sons, Edward of Manchester NH, Kenneth and his wife Cindy of Plaistow NH and daughter Heather (MacLeod) Kennedy and husband Chris of Fryeburg Maine. Grandchildren Amanda Kennedy, Bethany Hodgdon, Cameron Kennedy, Ashley MacLeod-Levasseur, Jason MacLeod and Amber Walker and 7 great grandchildren. Also survived by her younger brother Vernon MacInnis of Toronto Canada
Predeceased by her parents, and siblings, Thomas and Parker MacInnis.
Visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday July 28, 2023, at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home, 2395 White Mtn. Highway, Route 16, West Ossipee, NH.
Graveside services will be 12 PM Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Lakeview Cemetery in Freedom, NH
