Nancy Lee Christopher

Nancy L. Christopher passed away peacefully at age 80 at her Wolfeboro home on Memorial Day. She was a resident of Wolfeboro and Tuftonboro, NH, and a former resident of Cheshire, CT. She was born in CT, the daughter of the late George S. and Margaret H. (Zimmer) Casebolt. She was a graduate of Summit High School, Centenary College, and the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School. She held many administrative assistant positions over the years, but she took her greatest pride in being a homemaker. She was also very active in the First Congregational Church of Cheshire and in the Meals on Wheels program in Wolfeboro. She loved a great many things, including her time on and in Lake Winnipesaukee, traveling with her family and friends, cooking, gardening, playing bridge, hot fudge sundaes, and never missing a sale at Talbot’s. She will be remembered by many for her beauty, grace, kindness, and optimism. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Harold N. (Hal) Christopher, Jr., her son Kevin H. Christopher, and a great many dogs, including five Golden Retrievers. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Shanahan (Frank) of Virginia, her sister Margaret Wood, two nephews, a niece, and many friends and family members. A graveside memorial service was held in early June at Lakeview Cemetery in Wolfeboro, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wolfeboro Area Meals on Wheels, Box 547, Wolfeboro, NH 03894.
