Nancy Fay

July 27, 1941 — August 27, 2023

In Loving Memory of Nancy Fay
Known to everyone as Nancy, Aunt Nancy, Nana, and Mom
Nancy Fay, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly but peacefully, in her sleep on August 27, 2023, at her most cherished place on Earth-the family cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. She was 82 years young and had a life filled with love, faith, and devotion.
Nancy is now reunited in Heaven with her loving husband, Jim Fay, with whom she shared 55 beautiful years of marriage. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Wendy Fay Etheridge (Craig), David Fay (Andrea), and Michael Fay (Ashley). Nancy's love for her family knew no bounds, and she leaves behind 10 adoring grandchildren who meant the world to her.
Nancy is also survived by her sister, Barbara Cartnick Wiklinski, and her brothers, Louis Cartnick (wife Sharon) and Keith Cartnick (wife Cindy). Her love extended to countless nieces and nephews, with whom she shared a special and enduring bond. Her brother, Reed Cartnick proceeded her in death.
Nancy was an extraordinarily spiritual woman, active in her faith. Even when she couldn't attend Mass in person, she faithfully watched it on TV. Her relationship with Jesus was profound, and her love for Him was evident in everything she did.
Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, Nancy was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Louis Cartnick (Mildred). She grew up in Woodridge, NJ, and attended Saint Mary's High School in Rutherford, NJ. She pursued her education at Boston College's School of Nursing and dedicated herself to pediatric nursing at Children's Hospital in Boston. Later, she became a clinical instructor at Boston Floating Hospital and subsequently served as the school nurse at her sons' school, St. Sebastian's Country Day School, in Needham, MA.
Nancy had a passion for life and an array of interests. She enjoyed pottery, challenging her mind with word games and puzzles, exploring new places through travel, and, most of all, relishing every moment spent with her family. She had an extraordinary ability to turn any occasion into a celebration of love and togetherness.
As we say goodbye to Nancy Fay, we remember a remarkable woman whose love and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Nancy's memory  to support her nephew "Stefan Spectaular's" Intensive Recovery at Go Fund Me.
