Rebecca Louise DeLuca passed away Thursday October 6 at Mountain View Community in Ossipee, NH after struggling with Parkinson’s for many years. Born January 11, 1947 in Biddeford, Maine daughter of the late Coyle Bassford Smith and Margaret (Hutchins) Smith, she grew up in Dayton, Maine and following college lived in Southbridge, North Reading, Newburyport and Amesbury, MA then moved to Sugar Hill Retirement Community, Wolfeboro, NH in 2012. Rebecca graduated from Thornton Academy where she was on the National Honor Society and received a BA in math from University of New Hampshire. She worked in the IT field at American Optical and finished her career with Osram Sylvania in North Reading. After moving to NH she joined the Melvin Village Community Church where she served on the Outreach and Finance Committee and was Treasurer of the Annual Church Fair. While at Sugar Hill she was a member of the Board of Directors and served on various committees and activities. She is survived by her brother Richard (Linda) Smith of Sanford, ME and sister Jane (Jeffrey) Hunter of Melvin Village, NH. She was a loving and doting aunt to Jeffrey (Kristel) Smith, Nathan (Jessica) Smith, Nickie Hunter, Kristie (David) Smith and three great nephews Noah, Rory, Bentley and two great nieces Anna and Freyja. A memorial service will be held at the Melvin Village Community Church on Saturday October 22 at 11:00am.
