FARMINGTON - Roseanne Elizabeth Nicastro-Benton, 49, formerly of Alton, died unexpectedly at her home on Feb. 15, 2010. A family statement says that she will be deeply missed and will always be remembered for her eagerness to help and assist those in need and as a very giving and caring individual.She was born June 25, 1960 in Passaic, N.J. and was the daughter of John James and Marie (née Licastri) Nicastro Jr. of Alton. She grew up in Lodi, N.J., attended Lodi High School, graduated from Bergen Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice, and later received a B.A. in Health and Human Services from Pima County University in Tucson, Ariz. In 1995, she moved to New Hampshire, where she was a volunteer for over 10 years for Victims Inc. in Rochester, a nonprofit organization that helps families during times of crisis. She also worked for several years as a nurse's aide and as a home caregiver while living in Arizona.Predeceased by her husband, Bobby D. Benton, Aug. 31, 2009, she is survived by her parents of Alton; two sons, Jon James Nicastro of Las Cruces, N.M. and Anthony Joseph Nicastro of Manchester, N.H.; a sister, Debra Ann and husband, Jeff, of West Nyack, N.Y.; three brothers, John James Nicastro III and wife, Judy, of New Durham, N.H., Ken Nicastro and wife, Linda, of Monroe, N.Y. and Salvatore Nicastro and wife, Maryanne, of Alton, N.H.She was the loving aunt of 11 nieces and nephews, Lisa, Nicole, Angela, Lindsey, Theresa, Michelle, Jacqueline, Arianna, and Veronica Nicastro; Christopher and Matthew Giannella, and a great-grandniece, Daneille.Calling hours will be 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 85 Mill St., Wolfeboro, N.H.
