Susan Ellen Riley, beloved wife of Ernie Riley, Jr. passed away on August 20, 2022. She was 74 years old. Susan was born in Rochester, N.H., the daughter of Beatrice and Tracy Laney originally from New Durham, N.H. later residing in Ossipee, N.H. Susan is survived by her husband, Ernie of 52 years. She was the proud mother of son, William Riley married to Donna Riley, grandson Bradley Riley, granddaughter Shannon Riley, great grandson AJ; daughter, Kristine Senecal married to Craig Senecal, granddaughter Katelyn Senecal and grandson Austin Senecal; son Adam Riley married to Carolyn Riley, and grandsons Duncan and Tucker Wentworth; brother Walter Damon married to Jeanne Damon, nephews Derek and Mark Damon, niece Kara Damon, great nephew Cooper, and great niece Maggie. Susan was in the first graduating class of Kingswood Regional High School. In Susan’s earlier years, she worked seven summers at Victoria Pier in Alton Bay, N.H. She graduated from Plymouth State University with a Bachelors’ Degree. Her first teaching job was at the Paul School in Sanbornville, N.H. where she taught for two years. She then had a home daycarre for six years. Susan worked as a Special Education teaching assistant at Ossipee Central School and for one year as the classroom teacher. The class was moved to Kingswood Regional High School where Susan began the Community Life Skills Program for Special Needs Students. She completed courses in Special Education at the University of New Hampshire to receive her certification in Special Education. Susan was the teacher for the program for 16 ½ years before retiring. During her time teaching, she served as the Special Olympics coach for summer and winter sports. Susan greatly loved her job, being the Resource Room Teacher/DPT for her special needs students. Susan enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and family. She was a member of the Water Village Community Church, the Water Village Guild, sang in the Church choir, and taught Sunday School for many years. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Water Village Community Church.
