Timothy E. Haarmann

November 17, 1945 — December 20, 2023

Timothy E. Haarmann (78) passed away peacefully after three years of living courageously with cancer on December 20, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Tim was born on November 17, 1945 to Carl and Elizabeth (Lynch) Haarmann in Holyoke, MA. He graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School and received a degree in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Tim enjoyed a long and successful career in financial services working with Kidder Peabody, NatWest, and Loomis Sayles. He loved the daily challenge of his work and especially the camaraderie of his colleagues.

Tim was a keen and spirited competitor. He loved playing golf with his family and dear friends at Bald Peak Colony Club in Melvin Village, NH, and Naples Lakes Country Club in Naples, FL. For many years, Tim embraced the thrill of skiing with his family in North Conway, NH, creating countless cherished memories in the mountains. Tim also found immense joy in his weekly bridge game which greatly enriched the last few years of his life.

Tim leaves behind a legacy of humor, warmth, and kindness to his family who will forever be grateful for the love and guidance he provided. A loving and devoted husband, Tim is survived by his wife Renate "Ronnie" (Jamner) Haarmann whom he met at UMass and married in 1969. Together for 54 years, they built a life filled with family, love, and laughter.

A proud and loving father, Tim is survived by his daughter Meggan Newmarker and husband Robert, his son Daniel Haarmann and wife Lan, and his son Timothy Haarmann, Jr. and wife Cara. Tim adored his seven grandchildren Cullen, Kaitlan, Beckett, Jack, Beau, Joshua, and Timothy. He took an active interest in all of their lives with an enthusiastic curiosity in any details related to school and sports.

Tim is also survived by his beloved brother Carl Haarmann, Jr. and wife Diane with whom he and Ronnie traveled the world and his younger brother Kevin Haarmann and wife Cathy.

The Haarmann family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
