Virginia Whiting Perreault

January 9, 1926 — May 11, 2024

Virginia W. Perreault, 98, of Silver Lake, passed away on May 11, 2024 after a long struggle with multiple health issues. Her health necessitated a move to Mineral Springs Rehabilitation and nursing facility in North Conway in February of 2023.

Ginny, as she was known to family and friends, lived her entire life in the house on Village Road where she was born on January 9, 1926 to Ethel Jeffers Whiting and Frederick Hobson Whiting, the fourth of their six children.

In June of 1943 Ginny graduated as the valedictorian of her Madison High School class. In January of 1945, she married Frank Joseph Perreault of Madison. They were married fifty-nine years before 'Hank' passed away in 2004.

Ginny was employed for many years, always utilizing her exceptional skills in typing, bookkeeping and office management. Her career included working for John F. Chick & Son Inc. and subsequently for the Town of Madison as Town Clerk and secretary for the Board of Selectmen.

Ginny was actively involved in the community. She served multiple terms as deaconess for the Madison Church, belonged to the Philathea group, and sang in the choir.

Ginny loved to cook. Her pies and cakes were always a favorite at the Madison Church Suppers and the annual Donation.

Ginny is survived by a daughter Jean (and son-in-law Robert) of Clifton Park, N.Y., a son, Frank (and daughter-in-law Earleen) of Silver Lake, a granddaughter Sarah (and husband Justin) of Ballston Lake, N.Y., a sister Mary, of Newport, N.H., and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside gathering will be held at the Madison Cemetery on June 29th, 2024 at 11:00 A.M.

Memorial donations may be made to the Madison Church Food Pantry, 53 Conway Rd. Madison, N.H. 03849, or the Madison Library, P.O. Box # 240, Madison, N.H. 03849
